Reasons why I dont dig a 7 foot deep hole when I go to the beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -- It took 60 rescuers two hours to free a member of the Austrian Olympic swim team who was buried in sand up to his neck on Florida's Pompano Beach.
Authorities say 19-year-old Jakub Maly had spent much of Sunday digging a hole that was 7 feet deep and 6 feet across. The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that at 7 p.m., Maly jumped into the hole as a joke and sand collapsed around him.
Pompano Beach Fire-Rescue spokeswoman Sandra King says the man was in danger of being crushed by the pressure from the sand. He was freed about 9 p.m. and taken to a hospital. He was treated and released.
King said the Austrian Olympic team has been training in South Florida since April. Sunday was an off day for team members.

Its really not hard for this to not happen. Just go to the beach, play catch with a football, crack a few canwiches, and stare at some UA's. Thats all that you have to do when you go to the beach and you will have a perfect day. Rub in some SPF every few hours and your day is magical. If you do that, I promise you will never ever EVER have to worry about being eaten by a sand hole. Who in their right mind would ever spend a day at the beach by laboring over a 7 foot hole. Isnt that the exact job that a ditch digger does?? right there.
